I spend the afternoon with a professor from Georgia and her friends. Her name is Imani. She teaches spanish at a university in Atlanta. I met Imani on July 2, 2007, where we had the welcoming of students. She not only bilingual, but multilignual. She speaks four languages. She been to Jamaica, Cuba, Mexico, Brazil, France, Senegal, Peru, and Haiti. It was a pleasure to meet her, she is intelligent, nice, and a motivator. We speaking spanish and she encouraged me not to give up on it, because of the little fluency of spanish.
I met with her at the Cuenta residence around 12:30. We walked to the plaza to meet up with her friend. Next, we walked to the bus stop to catch the number 8 bus. This bus took us to la Aldehuela. We got out the bus and walked through the Sports park. Then, we waited for 20 minutes to meet Imani´s friend friends. Twenty minutes later, they came with a bag and a grill. I said to myelf, wow, she invited me to a barbecue with her friends, I felt honored. Imani´s friend Belyndia is from Brazil and Belyndia´s friends are from Cuba, and El Saldor. We had a good time talking and eating spicy food. Her friends were very patience listening to me, because I told them I was a beginner in speaking spanish. The afternoon turned out great. After eating, we went to see the Rio Tormes, and headed back to the city.
